A million thanks for the upload mate. Barrera’s time is up, Khan was just too fast and strong for him. The Prescott defeat has taught him to be more patient. Khan was just so lucky that he was trained by Freddie Roach. It might be good if he will fight with Pacman the great pinoy fighter.
March 15th, 2009 at 3:44 am
I’m glad that Khan won to be honest, and with the mentorship of Roach, lets hope to see very soon a fighter with the same (or better) caliber as Pacquiao. Crap, its 4:41 am here, gotta sleep. :S

well Done Khan Very good performance. would beat prescott now

thank you for uploading this video

Cheers for the upload. Khan was too good but wish there was no cut involved so there could be no controversey which im sure there may be

I think the improvement on khans defense and technique was immaculate as we saw tonight he wouldnt just throw loads of punches and leave his guard down, Against Barrera he was in and back out protecting his face and not allowing his chin to cause a great problem.

Thank You For The Upload Mate. I Think Barrera’s Time Is Up He Finished Prince Naseem I Thought That Was A Brilliant Achevment. He Also Retierd And Came Back To Boxing. Khan Was The Better Fighter On The Night. The Last Fight With Prescott Showed Him That He Had To Keep His Guard Up Alot. Now Roach Has Come In Her Might Be Able To Become A Champion. Good Luck Amir :).

Quality performance by Khan. Gotta give some credit to Barrera for staying in it as long as he did with that hole in his head, but Khan barely put a foot wrong. He looks completely transformed from the Prescott fight. Start of a bright future hopefully. Also is it just be or did the ref sound just a little bit southern to be from Leeds?

I think untill kahn fights a man who is the same size and ages as him and beats him with style i dont think i will ever appriciate him as a boxer- i dont see the point of getting some ageing veterian who is a legend to the sport and give him a good old fashion ass whipping, its make a fool out of kahn and barrera.
good skills though kahn. a well matched fight from kahn has to be seen. i.e. prescott kahn 2.
peace

Im not hearing Barrera is washed up, he fought a great fight considering the circumstances. Size differance, blood running into your eyes , and being in a differant country. Khan didnt want to really mix it up with Marco thta was obvious, put them both here in the states , no cut , and Khan willing to ix it up and Barrera wins on points easy.
March 17th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
seriously ever try fighting with blood running in your eyes its bloody difficult, you simply cannot see
March 17th, 2009 at 1:26 pm
I think its more the psychological damage from a cut than the actual blood in your eyes. Look at Marquez vs Diaz, after Marquez cut Diaz, his gameplan changed. When you get a cut you might feel like your hopes are lost, and you might be too worried about whether the doctor will stop the fight or not
March 17th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
i personally dont feel Khan whipped on on MAB, Khan won on a stoppage because of the cut, MAB is still a very dangerous fighter and he lost nothing that night. IF this kid has some nuts he would of really tried to mix it up with him but he new better, instead he played it safe , thats the differance between these guys a true accomplished warrior and soon to be , we will see a flash in the pan.

Try telling that to IZZY Vazquez when he fought Rafael Marquez in thier last fight? nothing but bllod and he came out victorious
March 17th, 2009 at 6:36 pm
Yea true, but I mean some fighters are not like Vazquez, I mean Vazquez was just too determined and too much of a warrior in that fight
March 18th, 2009 at 11:15 am
Amen to that brotha.

Arguing the bout should have been stopped sooner and been a no-contest, Barrera promoter Don King filed protests this week with the British Boxing Board of Control and both of the alphabet bodies that sanctioned the fight for regional titles in the hopes of getting Barrera a rematch.
“Amir Khan is in possession of a tainted victory,” King said. “The referee and doctor should have stopped the fight immediately after that incredible, accidental clash of heads. That they allowed the fight to continue with Barrera competing at a huge disadvantage goes against everything that’s designed to protect the health and safety of boxers, the good of the sport and uphold the traditions emanating from the Marquis of Queensbury rules.
“Marco Antonio Barrera should not lose any of his position and stature to this travesty of justice. He should not be punished for what was beyond his control. He fought like the great Mexican champion he is with valor, courage and honor while those charged with ensuring a level field of competition failed the sport and the fighter greatly. They endangered his health and safety and every other boxer who follows him into the ring hereafter if this error in judgment is not corrected. … Barrera needed a seeing-eye dog to make it back to his corner from the first round, but the officials let it continue
WHAT DID I SAY?
March 26th, 2009 at 6:24 pm
Barrera was deeply affected by that cut, and it truly showed in the ring. Sometimes no matter how much of a warrior you are, a cut can completely change the turn of events and make it seem like “the fighter didn’t have enough heart, or didn’t want to continue”. I really hope Barrera recovers from this and comes back with full force. I will never forget the Barrera-Morales fights, and will thank him always for those bouts.
But, I think Barrera should move down to super featherweight and try his luck there(Even thought it might be tough for him to make that weight). Junior Lightweight is a dangerous land right now.
