Valuev vs Haye (full fight)
by grestrep on Nov.07, 2009, under David Haye, Nikolai Valuev, Recent Fights
You know, a couple of hours ago when I watched this fight, I was pumped up because I was going to be able to write a result article about the outcome, but this fight upset me to such a degree that I just refused to write anything about it until now, so consider this paragraph a venting paragraph.
In a nutshell, Valuev did the same thing he had been doing over his last couple of fights, and that is - not taking advantage of his height and weight advantage. As for Haye, well, you guys can judge:

Its a brilliant fight for David Haye vs Nikulai Valuev & its a brilliant coverage in their fight from round 1 to 12 rounds.

Thanks for posting. Haye did what he had to do, not a pretty fight but it was never going to be!

I am sure Valuev is a nice guy but he belongs in a Circus not the boxing ring. He just makes the sport of boxing look silly. If guys like him are to be allowed a licence to box they need to create a super heavy devision. Somebody needs to start organizing matchups that give pugilism a chance to shine before we lose the heavyweight division to the ridiculous cage fighting.

Excellent result for Haye and the heavyweight division! Boxing is about playing to your strengths. Valuev didn’t and Haye did. Haye used his speed, explosive aggression, and footwork to outpoint a cumbersome, limited and very dull heavyweight champion (who failed to use his size advantage). Yes, Haye ducked in and out but who wouldn’t when faced with such a height and weight disadvantage! We now have a charismatic, slick and talented heavyweight champion. Putting aside nationality - surely that’s a good thing for world heavyweight boxing?

Haye did what he had to do and I think he will be the guy to put an end to the boring Klitschko reign and breathe some life back into the heavyweight division. This fight was boring because of the size and style of Valuev,Haye fought a very smart fight and I look for him to be much more exciting once he is in with more normal sized heavyweights. I dont think anyone understands just how difficult it is to fight someone with such a size disparity. Punching up takes away a lot of power and still Haye almost had the giant out in the 12th. Not a great fight to watch but an impressive performance by Haye.

I think for this fight HAYE is a wiser one, He used some tricks to avoid hit fm. the giant. I think if klitscho vs. valuev will materialize is a great fair match..
