manny is a great fighter…. amazing! amazing victory for filipinos…. go manny! kabayan!!
December 8th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
Totally agree with elizha. The 35 year old grandpa De La Hoya never had a chance. Manny was just too fast, and De La Hoya too old

My son, Prince Okbar of India is not a patient man. You have been warned.

What’s with the King/Prince of India? i think your comments doesnt belong here…
anyway, the fight was great though it seems like you’re watching manny against a sandbag… dont hate on me.. i like delahoya.. i was actually waiting for that “one punch” that will slow down manny but it never came… manny was just too quick for delahoya… and the angle of the punches that manny throws was so confusing that oscar cant even react… now that’s the past… let’s hope we’ll see manny vs floyd… that’ll be one heck of a fight i guess..

What bothered me about De La Hoya was that he didn’t even try to throw punches or show himself active. I bet he was too scared of Manny counter-punches and became cautious. Every punch that he landed was garbage. I’m more hoping to see Pacquiao vs Hatton in the near future…

the cobra’s coming to clean up the super middleweight division, calzaghe running scared, he has no power just throws alot of punches, taylor no chance, pavilik would get knocked the f**k out

im a hatton fan but he may struggle against manny, cant wait for fight though, thats the good thing bout boxing anything can happen.
December 12th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
If Hatton and Manny ever meet, Hatton needs to be in the best shape of his life. I have a tendency to believe his weight fluctuates too often between fights. But yea as you said, anything can happen.

Prince Okbar is not an Indian, he is Filipino.
Typical Filipino internet behaviour.
December 15th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
Prince Okbar is decent young man. All he wanted in his life was to see some Prince Naseem Hamed videos.
Now Prince Okbar cries and cannot sleep because he can’t stand being called a Filipino. You see, we are a very racist family. Everything that is not indian is an abomination. Please do not compare us to other racial groups.
Sincerely,
King Okbar of India

agree with indianan dude, prince naseem videos are essential, maybe not up with the alis and the sugars but an amazing fighter, that with the right motivation could’ve been as well remembered as the mexicans morales and barrera, an amazing talent.
On another note can’t wait for Pac Man vs Hatton, will be interesting to see if hatton can land enough to slow manny down in the late rounds, if can’t mannys gonna box his head off and will make him look stupid.

I also can’t wait for Pac vs Hatton. Its gonna be the year’s greatest bout. Not really sure who I’m supporting at this point. But, all I know is that its gonna be A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

I like both fighters so for me it’s a win-win situation, either way one of the fighters are gonna put themselves in the frame for bigger fights. The thing i want most from this fight is for it to be close enough so that theres a rematch, i love an upset so i’ll be supporting The Hitman for this one. Although, it’s a hard one to call but at the minute im edging towards Manny for that W.

Mayweather defeated Oscar in unanimous decision…Pacquiao defeated Oscar via TKO within 8th rounds….see the difference guys?
May 7th, 2009 at 3:09 pm
By the same token, Mayweather took 11 rounds to KO Hatton, in contrast, Pacquiao sent Hatton to the hospital in round 2.

bladed virus:
so what if King Okbar of India is a Filipino?
Anything wrong with that? Any racist like you should be
eliminated. Youre one of the reasons of todays world problems. Just like Hitler and Mossoulini..

grestrep : if you cant help to be biased, then pls stop commenting and posting all the fights of the fighter your not fond of. Stop being a so called boxing expert lol. That one of the code of ethics of a webmaster..
May 13th, 2009 at 7:51 am
mr ju:
I never said I was a boxing expert, I just said I like boxing. Also, as much as I try to remain biased with all the articles I post, I think I’m still entitled to my own opinions from time to time, specially in comments like this.
That being said, let me tell you my opinion. I admire both Pacquiao and De La Hoya, Pacquiao because of his past 2 victories (and his fights against Marquez) and De La Hoya for his decision to finally retire.
Finally, sometimes I post fights of fighters that I’m not fond of so that people who visit this site (not just me) can watch the fights - so that you, and all the people who commented in this article can watch and comment at the same time.
Thanks for visiting.

Also lol, I think Prince Okbar is fake, he is not Indian nor Pinoy - I saw his IP Address and he is from Canada!

What about upcoming fight Cotto vs. Pacquiao. I would like to see some comments from fans all over the world. It will give me some perspective on how the ppl see the fight.

Jose,
Pac and Cotto will be too tought to call. Manny very strong for his size and VERY fast (way faster than Cotto) but COtto is one of the most tech, beautiful and fluent fighters in the game right now…not to mention an EXTREMELY intelectual boxer. his foot work is unbelievable which in my opninion will make the difference in this fight. Cotto is a big welter fighter and will be a challange for Pac but Pac is Pac so we cant count him out AT ALL. whoever has the best footwork in this fight wins easy, which right now Cotto has the advantage. his only problem is his lack of head movement where Pac has him by a mile in that part. prediction…FIGHT OF THE YEAR easy.
September 25th, 2009 at 7:52 pm
I think I’m gonna put my money on Pac this time. I’m a fan of Cotto but his last performance against Clottey wasn’t that impressive. Probably a UD12 for Pac, since I don’t think Pac has the sufficient power to KO Cotto. I mean in reality Pac has no power for welterweights. Remember what DLH said - “Pacquiao’s punches don’t hurt, he just throws a lot of em”

I just love to watch this video over and over again. Seeing how Pacquiao progress as a boxer, dominating a great fighter like De La Hoya on the ring.
January 28th, 2010 at 11:35 am
With this fight Pacquiao has shown a lot of progress as a boxer and that’s the reason why he won this fight over de la hoya…
February 3rd, 2010 at 8:12 am
dela hoya has no match against pacquiao, This Pacquiao vs Clottey Fight this coming March 13, 2010 will be the biggest boxing event in 2010.
February 6th, 2010 at 3:04 am
Just wanna add to Pacquiao vs Clottey fight on March 13 who ever wins between Mayweather vs Mosley I think that will be the next of opponent of Pacquiao. Thank you.

This is one of my favorite fights of Manny Pacquiao aside from Pacquiao-Morales, Pacquiao-Barrera,and Pacquiao-Diaz fight. I was actually waiting for that one punch of the Golden Boy that will slow down manny but it never came Pacquiao was just too quick for delahoya and the angle of the punches that Pacman throws was so confusing that oscar cant even react.
